2022 was a very active year for me in Denver real estate. The Denver real estate market in 2022 was intense, fast, constantly changing, and not for the faint of heart. I referred to it as combat by contract during the Spring, which I believe was the most competitive housing market Denver has ever seen. I was the #1 agent for residential home sales in Denver County for April and May 2022 combined (#1 in May, #2 in April). (🙏I don’t view this from a place of ego, rather from satisfaction of being able to provide meaningful value to my clients and appreciation for the trust they put in me and the useful insights I gained from the experience.)
We saw 3% and 7% mortgage interest rates, a spike not seen in 40 years. We felt the breaks hit in May and the market noticeablely shift to a cool tone in June. What was a super hot market for sellers virtually turned into a cool market overnight. Hooray Federal Reserve, you can waive your Mission Accomplished banner as our heads fly back and forth with market whiplash.
