Denver Neighborhood Spotlight: Bonnie Brae

This week I want to feature one of Denver’s storybook neighborhoods with architectural charm in Art Moderne and the International style and a vibrant neighborhood commercial district. Bonnie Brae has winding streets, mature trees, and homes range from the original smaller but unique houses to million dollar custom built homes. Development began in the 1920’s with the idea of recreating the aura of a peaceful Scottish village in Denver, and continued in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The locally renowned Bonnie Brae Tavern on University Blvd was established in June 1934, by Carl and Sue Sire, seven months after the repeal of Prohibition. Learn more…
